A PASTOR'S CONFESSION

listening to the dark secrets

behind the walls

those invisible ears

I know

do not belong to God

so I take a walk in the woods with a penitent

let the wind the insects the birds and the animals

convert his endless confessions into secret codes

and give them to the reticent trees

to transmit directly to heaven

my ears, by the grace of God

were deafened by gunfire during the last war

yet as usual I keep it secret

from the poor soul

Note:  According to a news report, in order to prevent national secrets been stolen by eavesdropping Russian secret agents, an American pastor in Moscow adopted the practice of  " taking a walk in the woods" during a confession session.
