能搶的都搶了

能燒的都燒了

除了這些歪七八斜的石柱

以及那個容納不下艦隊

卻能剋火及遊樂的

人工湖

突然有東西炙痛了一下我的心

我四處尋覓

廢墟中

說不定還有一兩簇

不甘心不死心的

餘燼

圆明园

能抢的都抢了

能烧的都烧了

all that could be looted were looted

all that could be burned were burned

except these slanting, crumbling columns

and the man-made lake not big enough to

accommodate fleets

yet can extinguish fire and provide recreation and entertainment

suddenly something scorched my heart

I look around

is it possible that in the ruins

there are still some unextinguished

ashes
