帝王們豢養的石獸
蹲坐在歷史甬道的兩旁
如一群馴畜
要不是我偶然回頭
看到牠們裝盲的眼
在夕陽下閃露兇光
我定會直直走進
那越張越大的血盆大口

VISITING MING TOMB IN MY DREAM
the stone beasts
raised by the emperors
squatting on both
sides of the historical corridor
like a herd of
tame animals
had I not looked
back by chance
catching a wicked
sparkle from their feigned blind eyes
in the slanting
rays of the setting sun
I might have
walked right into a bloody mouth
opening wider and
wider
never to wake up
again
Note: Also called
the Thirteen Tombs, Beijing’s Ming Tomb is a group of thirteen graves for
thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
