"Arrival Of Spring"

-- Original Chinese rhyme sequence of Peter Do

(written/translated by James Pi)

Fond of wines and fond of poems,

I always lament with a tinge of emotion.

Again it comes the new year...

when peach wood couplets are seen in red.

First I see the plum blossoms withered,

Then the cherry blossoms bloom luxuriantly.

For new and old things I heave a sigh...

with chaotic thought and deluded mind.

In my eyes mist and clouds grow and vanish.

In my heart indignation and gloom turn over to sighs.

The scenery touches my feeling when Spring arrives,

Fleeting time flies ...

like blown away dust the Year of the Horse passed.
