From February to March

Zi Chuan’s Poetry

I put everything in my heart

The apricot trees inside the wall, the peach trees

on the side of the road, and the thorny rosebush that

climbs all over on the fence, they all

keep quiet, speechless throughout February

Only the grass who can hardly

retain their composure

have crept all over the land

From February to March

I keep myself in my study, writing

write Chinese calligraphy

On the rice paper, I write down

the willow in the Spring wind,

the rain on the Tomb Sweeping Day,

and another city where someone

has just planted a canna
